Thanks a lot! So for civilian attire, must it be long pants or can be bermudas/ pe shorts etc. ? Also shirt wise can be dri-fit tee right? Any banned colours/ etc?
Civilian is always either pants or jeans, if you wish you may bring Bermudas or pe shorts to sleep in, but otherwise you can you should only be allowed to wear long pants when you walk around HTA.

Hey, I saw your reply regarding the long pants. It was something new to me as its not indicated in my things to bring letter. I would just like to check, the pants can be track pants/ jogger pants meant for sports or must be those formal working pants/ jeans.

The civilian pants and shirts are for the first few days only right? (before receiving the spf uni/outfit)

Also, any rules for the shirt? E.g. must be long sleeve/ can be dri fit tee?

I also came by a post saying that need to bring white singlets. Is it optional if its not stated in my letter?

Sorry for all the questions!! I am getting a lot of new info on the things to bring and it's really surprising that I didnt see it in my letter!

Yes it must be long pants. Shorts can only be worn when u are bathing and sleeping.

For your enlistment day, I would recommend u to wear a dry fit tee plus jogger pants as u will be sweating a lot especially during your first night water parade. Try to bring another dry fit tee as well since u will be needing it for the next day. No color restriction for the dry fit but try not to wear so bright ah... if not very attention seeking haha

Hi all,

Posting here since this is SPF Related albeit not Enlistment related.

I would like some thoughts and advice.

I'm 20 this year and I spent 2 years in ITE after completing 'N' Levels (I was in the DPP Programme) and graduated with a Higher Nitec in Events Management in 2017. Following which, I decided to follow my interests and enrolled in LASALLE's Diploma in Broadcast Media.(I tried for FSV in NP thru EAE but didn't make the cut)

However, few months into the first year of the course, I found myself struggling to cope with the modules as they were all foundation art modules. ie. figure drawing, acrylic paint colour mixing and matching, sculpture making. I myself am not an artistic person so my skills aren't there. (TL;DR, I couldn't cope with life in LASALLE.)

Anyways, one day I thought about my future and since Sec 4 (if i recall), I wanted to serve in the SPF. So as of now, I am wondering should I:

1. Drop out from LASALLE, sign on to the SPF and take up a part time diploma?

2. Drop out from LASALLE, apply for a place in a local poly, work hard for a Home Team Diploma Sponsorship (pays my school fees and secures me a job in SPF)

I'm sure most ppl would want be to complete my studies but to be frank, I feel wary of taking full time studies.
Probs from the bad experience I had in LASALLE but I feel I probs need some regimentation to learn to be more responsible.

So, what are your thoughts?

If there are any SPF Regulars, JPOs esp, I would greatly love to hear from you.

Thank you in advance!

2nd day will be talks, and collecting your uniform etc...

SPF is quite stringent on its selection process... so wait till u pass the interview then u can consider quitting your current course

I did went through the selection assessment before. I got called up to do a medical screening after completing interview and psychometric test before I had to withdraw my application because I didn't have my NS Enlistment date with me as I was still an enrolled student.

I'm quietly confident that I might be able to make it past selection again. I don't have an intention to go back to LASALLE. I would rather go to a local poly. At least I can try for a Home Team Sponsorship.

I need advice on how do I climb myself up to become csi in America, but I think itís call css (crime scene specialist) in Singapore. But I donít have education related to forensic course. I just finish higher Nitec in mechatronic and I deferred my nyp aerospace/mechatronic program. I defer my course at nyp just so I could sign on police and find a pathway to become csi.

Iím not sure, if can police recommend me to a poly with the course related to the I want. Or I have to slowly climb myself up in the spf.

Who should I seek for in the camp for the advice.

Iím enlisting this coming 14 Aug

Your parents will receive a invitation letter from spf. At the back of the letter you will have to cut out the 3 tickets. Present the tickets at the guard house when entering.
