I am finishing my Kaplan Murdoch degree by end of this year and probably will only have official graduation next year march. The closing date of ICA SO is end dec 2016, do you think i should apply?

I used to be SCDF paramedic assistant during my NS stint.

Why would you want to sign on with ICA to breathe in exhaust smoke at the checkpoint for so little salary? Do you know that If you work as a security guard you can earn more than an ICA specialist or police sergeant? Please wake up your idea.

It's our own choice, and for me, it's not about the money. (Well not too much emphasis on it)

so you want to sit down on a chair at woodlands checkpoint or stand under a canopy in the hot sun and check a thousand vehicles entering Singapore to see if there are drugs, contraband or bombs inside? and you have to breathe in the exhaust smoke and you earn so little and you have almost 0 family time because by the time you reach home you are so tired.

How can you call this a career?

and then you look at your CISCO colleagues who are working OT everyday who are stationed in better posts in the checkpoints who earn higher salary than you and their organisation is not so rigid like yours? but you look down on them cos you are under government but they are semi-government but actually deep down they look down on you cos they earn better salary than you.

How does this benefit you?

You work as a security supervisor at a condominium you can earn $110 daily after CPF and if you work as a security guard you earn $90 after CPF.
$110 x 26 days =$2860
$90 x 26 days = $2340

Thanks for the long composition. Don't find the need to explain myself to you, an outsider, though.

dis is knowledge base forum......we are all here to get help or help others on ns/uniformed group related matters......not for u to take a dump on the aspirations of others.....no matter how illogical it may seem to you.....u can always go to edmw to bash on ICA......respect and peace......
