Changing ISP

Hi, can anyone provide some advise for me?

I am currently using singtel broadband 1Gbp. My contract is finished.
I wanted to switch to M1 broadband.

I would like to check if there is any downtime from moving over singtel to M1?
How long would it take?

Or if there is any chance to see if my second port of my ONT is working so that I can set up M1 broadband first while wait for singtel to terminate the broadband.

Thanks

There is definitely a downtime from weeks to months for 2nd port activation. Do a search and you'll realise we have discussed it before.

It's more advisable to sign up m1 first before terminating singtel to avoid situation of no Internet access..

Read this old but useful thread/post > Tips for switching to new fibre ISP

And do refer to the links in the post on reply from NetLink Trust.

Just make sure

1.make sure your m1 fiber is running and working first

2. Once everything is working on your new isp, now you can go ahead and terminate your current singtel.

This will ensure you have internet when moving between ISP

Hi xboxlife,

If you want to terminate the service, do call 1688.

There will be no termination charge if you give at least 7 days notice and in the case for Singtel TV, the STB has to be returned within 7 days.

Otherwise, a service of $42.80 and a charge for items not returned will be levied.

Singtel can you state clearly the process to port over home line when switching from Singtel BB to M1 BB, after the contract ended.
I need to terminate the Singtel BB first, retain the digital home line ($9.80/month) before M1 BB can take over. Is that means I may not have Internet in between the process?

Hi Singtel,

Just tell 1688 what you want and tell M1 you will to pop in your number from Singtel. So many did that.

Not sure of Digital Land Line. I tried to port my VQ Land Line to Starhub yet both said not possible. Maybe Singtel would work with M1.

It is because VQ is not a telco. Only possible between the 3 major telco.
