Just changed my ISP to WhizComms. Can say that it's "Not too bad" yet "Not the best"

The paperwork state that a typical wired connection will have download speed between 715.37Mbps - 954.27Mbps.

But tested out this.

I just signed up for the mesh wi-fi solution at $44 per month(not sure when the promo will end)... It would be cheaper by $24 if you take the 24 months no frills plan and pay up front for the 2 Deco m5 mesh but I rather split the damage over 24 months.

Anyone kind enough to use my referral email when signing up? it's benjamin.toh90@gmail.com

Thanks!

cat 6A to your pc or router?
test speedtest with wifi again and see if result is the same

100 mbps setup:-
[ONR] -> [TP-Link Router](From whizcomms) -> [Asus Router] - > My PC

Directly connecting to the ONR seems to get the speed back to 400+ mbps.
[ONR] -> [Asus Router] -> My PC

guess I wouldn't be able to get the so called speed between 700+mbps to 900+mbps.

Looks more like cable/port limiting to 100BASE-T (100mb/s)

yes, but not sure what's limiting the speed (maybe the TP-link router, cable distance, etc)

Seems that directly connecting to the ONR can improve the speed though.

Seems that you can change the setting on the Optical Network Router(ONR) provided by WhizComms, need username & password though. (Tried using the default username and password, not working.)

Not sure, because it needs a username and password. tried the default credential that I found on the internet but login failed.

Edit:

https: //whizcomms.com.sg/downloads-broadband/

found the username and password from the manual. thanks to deathblade82.

Just normal router setting just that there's no wireless function even though its a Optic Network Router.

Better not touch anything as it connect directly to the Fiber Terminal Box. :s13:

The default username/password is root/admin

If the default login fails then perhaps refer to the service report during installation to see if it's indicated there.

Yes, just found out credential inside the pdf manual. many thanks.
Just have to settle the download speed as it does not reach up to what it is known to be.

Your setup looks complicated with the TP-Link Router and Asus Router. Try connecting your PC directly to the ONR and run speedtest to check.

The TPLink and Asus routers should be configured in AP mode (Dhcp disabled) and connect directly to the ONR. All 4 LAN ports on the ONR are usable, unlike some earlier posts which stated otherwise.

Try not to daisy-chain the network equipment (ONR--TPLink--Asus--PC). The ONR should be the main (and only) router in the network.

Tested out in safe mode, guess my PC runs too many thing that slow down the network coming to it. (Which I have no clue which program.) :o

Congrats, you are getting the correct subscribed speed for 1 Gbps plan. Now you can slowly add in the other routers (in AP mode) to verify wireless connectivity. Remember it is best to connect your wired devices directly to the ONR.

As for your PC issue, may I suggest:

1) Disable all unnecessary startup programs and services...can Google up on this.

2) Disable any Internet security suite that comes with built-in software firewall. Just use basic AV with windows firewall will suffice.

3) Disable custom network apps/drivers such as Killler NIC, and any other 'Gaming' utility apps.

4) If you feel the computer running sluggish especially when running speedtest, do a scan for malware. Boot your PC in safemode with networking, download and install Malwarebytes free and run a scan (or scan with any AV program you prefer).

10% off subscription for first month only or the whole contract term?

Also, can anyone confirm that all 4 ports on the ONR is internet ready? Other ISP only has Port 1 active.
