[Review] ASUS ZenBook 14 UX433 review: All this for under $1,900?!

The new ASUS ZenBook 14 offers a great value proposition, not only from a specs-list perspective but in design, functionality, and form.

RATINGS
  • Design : 8.5
  • Features : 8.5
  • Performance : 7.5
  • Value : 9.5
  • Mobility : 8

THE GOOD
  • Discrete graphics
  • Remarkably compact and light
  • Full-size USB and HDMI ports
  • Decent battery life
  • Attractively priced
  • Meets MIL-STD-810 standards

THE BAD
  • Lackluster graphics performance
  • No Thunderbolt 3 support
  • Narrow trackpad
  • NumberPad is a bit gimmicky

Is there any real meaning to MIL SPEC? It seems that the manufacturers tests vary wildly and some are just plain ridiculous.

For example LG Gram's drop test was conducted in its packaging, which proves the strength of the box instead of the product.

More rugged? With that hinge design? I seriously doubt it. Anyway, the mil spec 810 marketing is a joke. Widely abused by all brands. Just like how vacuum cleaners claim to have HEPA filter, but only a small fraction comply with actual EN-1822 standards.

Read from many owners that there is quite a loud coil whine for this model.

Too bad it looks pretty nice.

Mine is an i5, 16gb ram, 512ssd, mx250 but this is cheaper...

Yep, if u need TB then can forgo this model.

For me, i like the slim n almost bezelless 13.9 form factor, very small compare to other 14" model on the market now.
