Before I begin, it seems after latest AMD news that they release
new AMD Ryzen Pro notebooks. (For business of cuz)
First thing first, for those who may think AMD Ryzen NB maybe
price near to US or even cheap.

You maybe in for a shock. :(
This somehow doesn't sound like what AMD was used to be.
Which is cheap and affordable.

Here I will also share avaiblity for AMD Ryzen as I have been scouting around.
For so long I have been using AMD whether PC or NB.
I am not a Intel user except at work only.

Let us start with AMD Ryzen for home use or consumer

HP Envy X360 15
Price: Unknown (US is about $800)
Coming to SG: Yes Late June

HP Envy X360 13
Price: Unknown
Coming to SG: Maybe

Lenovo Ideapad 720s (13") AMD Ryzen
Price: $15XX For Ryzen 5 (US is about $699)
Jack up the price ridiculous by twice.
Only available through Lenovo SG Site
*Due to absurd pricing please do not get
You can get laptop with better specs at this price.

Dell Inspiron 15 AMD Ryzen
Price: Unknown (US is about $6XX depending on size and SKU)
Coming to SG: No interest to bring to SG

Acer Swift 3
Price: Unknown (US is about $8XX)
Coming to SG: Maybe

For AMD Ryzen home laptop, it seems only HP.
Lenovo that model is priced absurd.

AMD Ryzen Pro For Business

Due to some products are under wrap which means not officially announced.
Best to read this link:

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-mobile-desktop-pro-threadripper,37048.html

I have check only HP Probook and Elitebook based on AMD Ryzen will come in late June.
Lenovo Thinkpad a485/a285 might come but not known when.

Here comes the kicker, price is expensive according to US site.
HP Probook 645 G4 is US$14XX, if convert to SG may break $2k mark.

Dell Latitude that model might not come.

After some observation, it seems AMD Ryzen laptop even if come to SG.
It may not be price $899 or so like how it was priced all a long.
It may break $1k to $1.5k type of range for AMD Ryzen laptop for
home use.

For business wise, the price to me maybe unjustifiable.
Not to mention most coy prefer Intel than AMD, maybe due to software compatibility reasons as well as favor Intel than AMD.

AMD Ryzen have caught up with Intel but it's Vega GPU is way better
than Intel UHD.
To me AMD Ryzen locally DIY market is still worth it, NB wise due
to aggressive pricing it won't appeal to consumer.

Just look at the Lenovo one, that price you can get a laptop with
Geforce 1050. For SG, Intel NB are the proffered choice concurrently.

Anything feel free to share, any sightings do share.

Honor magicbook with AMD Ryzen 5 inside is selling like hot cakes.
But too bad, laptop in SG especially with AMD CPU always sell very expensive.
Guess this is one of the tactics from OEM to get discount from intel

Envy x360 is here, has been here for the last few months or so. Lenovo E485 also is here. And they're cheaper than their Intel counterparts by a fair margin.

But if nobody buy those, why would they bring in the new Ryzen?

I've seen a grand total of one person with a Envy x360.

I feel the RRP for laptops don't mean much. For corporate use, the manufacturers typically have sort of a tie up/ bidding system to provide the machine + support. As a result, I feel the laptops may actually be cheaper than what we are seeing.

Anyway when it comes to corporate use, Ryzen APU may not be the preferred choice since its not usually not meant for gaming, and the Vega GPU will be underutilized. Instead, the focus will be better battery life, CPU performance and stability which I think AMD is have quite a lot of room for improvement vs Intel in the mobile space.

HP has a AMD Ryzen 3 laptop (14-cm0901au) going for $849 - $240 (until 17 Feb) but there was a customer who mentioned in his review that he got it at just $5xx in Jan from HP official store in Shopee..

This HP Ryzen 3 laptop is now on flash sale @ $599.. and if u use the $50 shop coupon.. it comes down to only $549... dunno if this laptop is good.. anybody use b4?

Lenovo E485 for SME seems to be the best price option as my company is moving towards that.

With that price point & 3 years warranty provided by lenovo it seems our best buy now.
