No Thunderbolt 3 port = NO EGPU

You die die need to have a Thunderbolt 3 port in order to use EGPU.
Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth allows for connection speeds up to 40Gbps.

I suggest go to https://egpu.io for fore details

USB 3.1 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps).
USB 3.0 is capable of data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps.
USB 3.0 is also known as USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps).

TS ah.
eGPU sucks and the dock itself is very expensive.
Go grab a proper laptop with a proper GPU.

Only intel have thunderbolt for laptop.

techidiot 27-01-2020 11:27 PM

TS, at the price of both the laptop and the eGPU.
Why not get a proper laptop instead?
Even though that laptop is cheap but:
- It is using U series chip which isn't suitable for video editing
- It is using HDD but not SSD and running Windows 10 will crawl

That spec isn't very ideal for video editing so
consider a laptop with Intel H series with decent graphics.
If you are a student, can ask for edu pricing or look
for second hand sets.

Like from PCdreams, Dell Factory outlet or Caurosell.

If you dont have tb3 - mPCIe, Expresscard or m.2 slots also work for egpu
