I upgraded it to 16Gb and is loving it. The only thing i hope it would be better is to include a additional mini display port beside the hdmi port.

So which model doesn't have IPS?

So far I ran through their main page, doesn't mentioned anything on model exclusion or such....

Nice. Make sure the charger socket is plugged and turned on permanently. The battery suction is very high on this. Been there, tried that ytd without gaming. lol

I think there's 2 RAM slot there. One empty for future upgrading. In any case if you intend to upgrade your RAM, might wan to check with the ASUS too? Since opening the back do void warranty?

I wonder in future if I could replace my existing 128GB PCIE Gen3 SSD inside FX504GD with Samsung 970 EVO NVMe SSD or 860 EVO M.2?

Currently Have plan in mind to bump up RAM to 16GB and replace existing SSD to a spacious one

Should be able to unless asus have a whitelist of the supporting drive. but shouldn't have one.

meaning u should be able to upgrade your laptop,

Yeah, just checked. I could upgrade those.
However, I would have to take note that the mainboard support PCIE Gen3x2 SSD, it may not be able to utilise the full potential of the 970 EVO 4 lanes vs 2 lanes.

Hey guys~ this is what I found for testing, if you still want to buy this sku, I would say "good luck".

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-T...62001527284120

FX504’s CPU multi-thread performance is about 20 percent slower than the average i5-8300H.

Notebookcheck recommends better buy the older systems with i7-7700HQ and GTX1060 would tremendously more fruitful than FX504.
