embarked on a new mini project. bought a old T440P and fully overhauled the unit

1. Replaced the top cover, palm rest, lcd bezel and bottom cover
2. Upgrade the screen to a Innolux 1080p. Gorgeous colors
3. Changed keyboard to backlit
4. Change the trackpad to T450 model
5. Change the HSF to Delta model plus Kryonaut thermal paste
6. Ram maxed out at 16GB
7. Upgraded CPU to 4712MQ
8. Installed a 250GB SSD to WWAN slot
9. 2.5" SSD into main HDD slot
10. Added a third HDD into the optical caddy
11. Swapped out the battery for 9 cell and adapter to 90W
12. Upgraded wifi card to AX200

Changes were so extensive that the only components untouched were the mobo and the internal base frame.

Next project will be the x240
there isnt much to upgrade for the x240. probably display screen, ssd, ram, keyboard & external covers.

like you, i am also itchy to tinker around. the ones that i am currently looking for do have a substantial amount of mods to tinker with, which are the t420/t430 because of 1) external gpu & 2) classical keyboard.

if you are ambitious enough and do have the skills, look for "frankenpad" builds. maybe one day when i have the time, tools and importantly, the expertise, i will attempt it.

Re: 2103: Detection error on HDD0 (Main HDD)
This usually means the drive is not installed correctly. Power down, very carefully remove the drive and disconnect the cabling, and then very carefully reassemble. The drive should now be detected as normal

Anyone know if our local debit cards can be used to purchase from the Lenovo Malaysia website? Their prices are much cheaper, thinking of getting one fro, here and shipped to my house there.
