Btech Computing

Hello to all Hardware Zone Peeps!

I'm Starting this thread to find out more about the credibility of BTech Computing By NUS.

Having paid a course fee of $550. To take the Math Test and also Being accepted.

I'm wondering how are the Grads from this course faring in the workplace?

Do I really have to go through a 4 years degree just for the NUS Brand

OR

A Private Degree will suffice with reference to my own ability to work outside?

I know the questions i asked are debatable and I welcome people to comment as there is much to learn for me

NUS Btech modules would definitely allow u to learn more than private degree from SIM

Their mods are the same as undergrads, the mods u take in pte uni dont cover as much

Hi alander,

But the part time deg in NUS isn't the same as the full time in NUS.

The modules are all different so.. i don't think it will be in depth either.

At least those are my concerns. You're from FULL-TIME NUS correct?

I've seen the Modules for the Part Time Modules. I feel they're like a specialist diploma standard / level. Many things have been taken out.. sigh

Hi,

I looked at the module list, it is 160 MCs and is equivalent to undergraduate 160 MCs

I could map most Undergrad mods to the TIC modules and i believe they are the same in content. U probably need to select ur modules carefully to gain the most depth if required.

Yes, you are right it is not a full fledge computer science degree.. but do u need 1 for that matter?

Hi Alander,

I highly doubt as part time students you get to select mods for what you want to do. The course is fixed, also a full fledged computer science can branch into more paths like data science / analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and also cybersecurity.

But a part time degree such as this is very niche.
