Questions Regarding STARS and SCE yr 2 Modules

1) I realize that SCE yr 2 got a lot of modules. Can any seniors advise which module they bid for during yr 2 and how they organise? Cos yr2 SCE a lot of modules but yr 3 like dont have.

Are there any instances where you get left behind?

2) Is it possible to drop core module during add/drop period?

3) How many AUs in a sem is considered "normal"? Typically, how many cores and how many electives do you bid? Is it can bid up to 22 AU each sem or 20 if I am wrong? Do you take 3 or 4 core subjects for a sem?

4) I feel like taking CPE105 next sem and that take a GERPE that I like CV8801 spatial information science. Does anyone know how often these GERPE get recycled?

Any advice is appreciated.

generally 4 core modules are quite minimum. Most students take 5-6 cores per semester and a elective module.

It will depends whether if u want to graduate earlier.
I suggest follow ur course recommended schedule to avoid timetable clashes when u come to yr 3-4

ard 5-6 modules, can go up to 23 AUs iirc
basically i just follow the normal schedule, a few of my frens push the comp graphics, netcentric to last few semesters

not advisable to take 3-4 modules now, cos probably u hav to overload or take 6 modules during yr3 n 4 to complete within 4yrs. rmb u hav one more fyp during ur final year, tt alone take up quite alot of time

Oh gosh. I made several mistakes. I should have bid for more core courses! else next year I die. And which are the "difficult" modules that take up time?

I didnt know can bid up to 24AU cos 1 semester I not allowed to overload as freshmen.

Power xia can fit 5-6 core modules in your timetable.

I remember a student cannot take more than 6 modules.

Hence it's either 6 core mod or 5 core mods + 1 GE

For poly grad, recommended schedule is given to them during the first school day briefing session.

go to your NTU mail..
then go to Public Folder => Common (Staff and Student) => School/Department => School of Computer Engineering => Poly Schedule for BEng

there will be a file "Course_structure_CE_CSC_2007 Updated on 24 Apr 07.xls"

download that file.. the schedule is in there
