SUGGESTIONS FOR FINE TUNING NEWBIE POSTINGS TO PREVENT BUMPER CLONES

Dear all in EDMW,

In view of bumper clone attacks, all suggestions are welcome to fine-tune newbie postings in order to prevent bumper clone attacks.

Please consolidate all your suggestions here and rest assure that all moderators take your suggestions seriously (especially to prevent mindless bumper clones and any other distasteful postings by unwanted and unwelcome clones).

Thank you

possible to prevent the exact same message being posted everytime?

means each post must vary, even by a bit, before it can be posted

not really a good idea la. cos you see some people register account to ask help regarding certain topics that may have passed 2 weeks.

register with handphone number liao will wait half an hour before given a code to fully activate the account.
the time being only can use the account to lurk.
maybe also delete account if not fully activated within 24 hours of creation?
because if they got anything urgent i don't think they will come forum anyway.

let TS (more than 5k post counts) decide if the post should be allowed to be published?
until he hits 100 posts

please do something about the irritating and mindless bumping of good morning, good afternoon, good night spam attack done by several edmwers several times everyday. The newbie merely bump thread once or twice per week at unearthly off peak hours, whereas the older edmwer bump it everyday during working hrs on different threads when viewership is high...

as for newbie account, use IC to register..one IC one a/c...even older a/c must have their IC to verify them also. It's similar to what paypal has done...

Sammyboyforum has made new a/c posting not to be shown until verfied by mod ...

end of the day, please increase the number of active volunteer mod in the forum...

how is the HP number registration useful when crones still be able to register. Are they having too many HP numbers or the HP number feature is not hard tagged to the individual account?

here is my suggestion:

yes I agree with Dragon in removing the post count feature especially in EDMW. learning from some forums, they actually disable the post counts in certain sections(eg. buying/selling section) and since HWZ is targeting at EDMW, which is basically a chit chat section, post counts should just be limited. while other sections should merit post counts to encourage proper discussions in the sub forums.

on top of that, in case newbie start spamming in other sub forums, HWZ should limit a newbie's post by the hour or day. probably 10 posts per hour or 50 per day, which is not little in order to give genuine newbies a chance to discuss and not too much post per time frame in order to give moderators sufficient time to act.

I am quite certain 1 minute will not deter bumpers to bump threads.
