Unity is dead, Ubuntu back to Gnome

Six years after making Unity the default user interface on Ubuntu desktops, Canonical is giving up on the project and will switch the default Ubuntu desktop back to GNOME next year. Canonical is also ending development of Ubuntu software for phones and tablets, spelling doom for the goal of creating a converged experience with phones acting as desktops when docked with the right equipment.
personally hated e Unity interface...

Personally love Gnome since day 1, love the icons but I just can't figure out how to place an icon of the desktop

Good riddance. Hated Unity since day one. super slow and resource intensive. Dun understand so many Linux flavours use Gnome but Ubuntu dun want to use.

Who is still using ubuntu? I have stop using that distro for ages..

Manjaro linux is better!

personally hated e Unity interface...
Same here. Whoever bring it to Linux need to be shot in the head.

Nowadays I only use linux if I need to climb bukit timah.
