A little off topic, apart from learning Japanese language, anyone here managed to make Japanese friends in Singapore?

Hi guys! would like to ask a question..

For the letter R..what is the correct way of pronouncing it?

like:

lion=raion? laion?
robot= robotto? lobotto?
rurouni= lurouni?(<--my colleague insisted it was this) rurouni?
lucky=rakki?/ lakki?

She said that japanese don use the R vowel because they couldnt pronounce it properly.
However, when i was in ikoma my sensei didnt really mention much abt the vowel stuff..

normally when i pronounce them would just try to balance those 2 ..like a soft R..

PLEASE ADVISE!!

This should be able to help you.

I always tell my students it's like a L sound inside a R sound. =)

I am gonna retake my JLPT N2 this December. Failed the one in July terribly, mainly due to section 1.

Need to study super hard this time round.
