About P1 registration

hello guys.. my kid just turned two. some little bird told me that i should start planning for her primary school and start doing volunteer work (isit too early/kiasu?)

i dont have much knowledge about this. i did a bit of read up and find what the little bird told me was misleading.

https://beta.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-r...y-dates/?pt=2B

long story short, i have few questions:
- when can i start registering my kid for p1 intake?
- when should i start volunteer work at my preferred school?
- volunteer 40 hours is enough? or there is a recommended hour?
- how do i start volunteer work? email the school?

thanks in advance

1. Registration will start during the year of 6th birthday. Usually during June period.
2. Ask the sch. Please take note that some sch conduct interviews and select based on parent's skill set.
3. Depending on sch's requirement
4. Contact sch

Dis you consider own/spouse pri sch? Sign alumni (phase 2A1) or register as old boys/old girls (phase 2A2)?

I guess your frds ask you to prepare early is to move to somewhere near the sch too.

think they r also capping on the number of parents volunteers, especially with Covid19.

and no guarantee that being parent-volunteer will get u the ticket to the school that you want your LO to go to.

any schools that are nearby your present home?

Good luck. Confirmed ballot. Some school so popular that need to ballot for phase 2A.

2C dont even have chance to ballot. Better check kiasuparent for past few years history.

Min 20 spots but 100+ people ballot. Really need to pray hard.
