What RO/DI system do you guys recommend? I prefer those with low water wastage. Also what chiller is energy efficient for a 25 gal tank?

those green algae growing on the tank walls is good for the tank eco sys.
just treat it as plants. it will use fish waste as food helping you to polish the water while providing food source for fish and shrimp.

I have never lose a fish even after a 10 days trip without any feeding or water change.

the down side to some algae is unsightly.
: ) finally you caught up. 1 side for algae will do, no need every face also algae.

No fish nor human can live too long in a pure RO environment. So adding minerals is part and parcel of RO Water. Try Green Chapter.

I am thinking of getting Fan cooling then top up RODI water for evaporation vs getting a chiller

Hmm...the humidity is pretty high of late, so much so due to El Nino effect. You certainly can go for it, but it will increase humidity making you more unbearable. Likely to hit above 80% on your end.

HTC-8A
In case you want to measure the average room temperature and that of humidity.

I have two HTC-8A operating on my end.

I saw a brand new TECO TK-150 Aquarium Chiller selling at $600. Worth it over the Hailea HS28?

Pretty steep the price for one.

A chiller brings up room temp by at least 3-5C, given hot wet season Singapore, the land itself is not suitable for chiller. Pretty much the same as using putting a bar fridge. Average costing is $50 per month plus minus.

For three would be tb might have cheaper one. I am not telling you the brand you mention are bad. Price is pretty much std as you can see, they existed for quite some time, performance is doubtless.

Thing to note
Teco is a famous brand like ehiem for filter but down side it is X . I doubt 150 the capacity is big.

I used a hs28 with modified external probe . Didn’t have any issues till the day I sold it .
But as usual the electric bill and heat generated in room is a concern for the placement

How much is the monthly extra electricity bill for hs28?
I know that HS28 is rated for 400L, TK150 is rated for 150L.
My tank is about 90L

dun think it is alot alot more.

Mine was 3 x 1 x 1.2 about 97L also.
But it is in living room so its generally cooler., i set at 25-26

eco pro 3 inline diffusuer to hs28 then to tank, with probe in the tank.

That is a few years back. IIRC it kicked in about 45-60min once and runs for not very long. The bulk of consumption is for the kicking in of the motor repeatedly
