Given my tank is 11 gallons, I plan to use 1 teaspoon of baking soda mixed into a small pail of tank water. Then slowly pour into main tank over multiple times. Then measure the PH again the next day.

From 5.5 to 7.0 is 1.5 diff.
I suggest you increase 0.5 each day over 3 days.
Good luck.

Thanks. I'll go as slow as possible.

Frankly I'd do it to 6.2 even if there will be a spike difference, ask yourself, it was a hazy condition, would the body recover better in a hazy gradual situation or immediate clearance? I won't put myself in a fully oxygenated environment because I will get oxygen poisoning instead.

But that introduction when translated into a tank is the use of tubing where water flows in gradually and less immediate. So thats the difference in method that I will use.

Update

1 female guppy died last night. The other one almost dead as of now even though I moved them to smaller tank to minimise stress.

The other males all looking healthy and strong. It's so strange.

PH now 7.0 and Ammonia 0 to 0.25

All bought on same day from qian hu

Ahhh....I see the problem here, you tend to keep at 5.5 but most LFS and that fish farm keep at 6.2-6.8 range. Only heaty days, LFS at market will spike to 7 with increase of use of chemical by waterworks. I believe it should be PH Stress you are dealing here. If you negotiate properly at 6.0-6.2 I dun see a problem.

Sounds logical.

So males are more hardy? Cos they look to be doing well now.

Next time I buy female, will keep in other tank for longer time until pH matches

Whether human or animals, female usually are the longer life sex. Like Shrimps, male die female carry on with the production of colony. I can't remember the guppies, 3 tanks, hundreds of them. Multiply super fast, my dad use to keep em. All 1 ft but he change water everyday and feed them with tubi. Uses tap water, never bother even with dechlorination.

Today guppies are used as feeder fish for monster fish. So if you have the tank, you can just buy a pack of feeder guppies, much easier. Unless you go for breeding type and find those AA class or AAA class specific guppies.

Forward the video so you can skip the unwanted scenes. Do you wish your fish tank to be this big? Hee Hee. I guess they made the wrong choice by not choosing glass. So much scratches.

Not sure is it I intro females too many too fast, came back home saw 3 out of the 7 new ladies died... One of them is the yellow one which I like most.
I worry if death will continue to spike this few days...

Do female guppies fight among themselves???

Yes, female guppies, especially those with dark bodies/eyes, can be aggressive.
Poor yellow one. She was the most beautiful.

Guppies always come back well and fall sick the next day, unlike others such as cardinal tetras.

The use of too much FT liao. Japan does not seem to have this problem. I too watch their vids up close, no such problem. The scratch is external, not internal.

I wear spec, so the use of plastic and glass before. But translate to tank, I always go for glass instead of acrylic. Use to have plastic turtle tank too, same, a lot of scratches. Dun mind me if I dun like acrylic.

This is the part which puzzled me. The black and yellow guppies are from the same tank in the LFS. The tank isn't big and kept tens and tens of guppies, definitely more crowded. The tank is bare without any hiding spot, only have spot filter.

Big tanks of those sizing not possible using glass.
seams, thickness, safety.
And it is external means lazy maintenance.

the dwarf puffer succumb to starvation liao.
Got a fahaka now instead.
