live stock do not necessarily churn good profit. You need to account for death of fishes as well.
Too many lfs in a small island that u can reach from point to point in less than 1hr as well, even some markets in the old towns has super small lfs stalls inside. Majority of the general community seems to be too price conscious from the point of sale period , not factoring the pre and post sale services as well as the proper acclimatisation of the livestock by the lfs.

Lack of variation and identity for most of the lfs as well, eg. Clementi 328, got 5 lfs in that blk alone.. But most seems to be selling the same stuffs

Never went to LFS before they moved to c328, so can't comment if they were originally trying to bring something different to the game along that stretch. That aquarium seem to opened with quite abit of fanfare, found it abit unique initially seeing that their shop is more tidy, cleaner, brighter as well as stocking show bettas and high quality shrimps.. Its revert to the norm now though... Simply a auntie shop version B, nothing unique.. In fact auntie seems to pretty In tune with the latest trends, always stocking up the latest trends item, like eg. Rare and unique plants recently

Can understand the issue of opening specialist shops though, the demographic there majority would simply enjoying the views in yr shop but end up buying from auntie shop just because it is 50cent to 2dollar cheaper

True but the hobby has been in decline, at least in SG, whether due to economic reasons or people moving to other hobbies. Lots of smaller LFS have closed down. Arofanatics is a shadow of what it used to be.

I stopped keeping fish due to work for over a decade, recently just got back into shrimp. I still miss the days of monster fish - which is even rarer today? I'm afraid I can't truly keep them without moving to the suburbs in another country.
Downfall of Arofanatics is when they begin to only allow regulars (who attends events) to post sales thread in a bid to save bandwidth.

Achieved their aim... nobody goes there anymore.

LFS at the open with much funfare. (idk where they from or history)

But with all new LFS, 2 shop space. adequate walk way clearance and neat stocking up.

This is a breath of fresh air. Pricing were okay too reasonable. Vendors were more than willing such a shop open where new things get displayed and sold.

But somehow or maybe overheads it could keep up that ...and now one corner..

Very sad to see AF in such a state.
The owner of AF don't care anyway.
