Question Want's a cat pet. Living in private property

Hi,

I've always wanted a cat, an indoor cat because it's too dangerous outside.

But I live in a private house full of large ceiling to floor windows. Not exactly the best to keep cats indoors. Anyone with experience of having a pet cat in a private house or ideas to keep my cat indoors?

Too many windows to be meshed in that case, doubt family would be pleased. Additionally there are folding and sliding doors too

If it's a private house can you do gates and fences like they do overseas? To make sure the cat cannot climb up and out, nor dig under and out.
If not, straight forward answer is don't open the folding/sliding doors/windows.

It sounds as if this is not your own property. I would not adopt a cat then.

Well, there is no fool proof way unless you keep an eye on the cat and keep your house sealed at all times.

Trust your car more, they loiter around the area and return(for food) regularly even if they manage to get out of the house.
