Masters in the US

Hi,

Anyone who will be studying in the US this year?
I have been offered for 2020, but with the deferral due to covid, will only be going this year.

Try your uni student club maybe they can connect you with incoming students.
Those uni scholars go to not hard to find find fellow Singaporeans.

I think it's quite rare for Singaporeans to study masters because they can find jobs easily with a Bachelor's. Some more mine is a masters in Finance (Singapore hr won't prefer that to a bachelor's). Basically I'm an older applicant (worked for 4 years already), none of my friends will ever take a masters.

In Singapore rare, in USA trying to find a job?
It’s not rare to find many Singaporeans having masters in USA.
with H1B visa favoring ppl with higher degree.
the past lottery system only 1/3 got VISA at bach level. masters get to draw the lottery 2X increasing their chance of staying

Not rare to find people with masters in SG... in fact, getting pretty common for people with two masters or doctorate...

I gather it really depends on your social circle and where u working in.
my circle I only know 3ppl.
of course if one is in those research place, its not uncommon to find there are more masters/Phd than bach. my buddy in such place and told me having bach is so few the rest all PSC or SAF scholars with higher degree.

Yup true. From my personal experience, I do know of quite a number of people with their second masters. And a few of them happened to be my classmates back then and then they went on to do their second masters...

As knowledge becomes obsolete faster, I believe more will be pursuing another masters (after considering other alternative options like another bachelor, recognition, circumstances etc).
