MComp is more rigorous, competitive and prestigious than MTech. Like all “applied” degree, MTech is 2nd-class to MComp.

Being “applied” does not necessarily make MTech graduate better than MComp in doing the jobs. If you don’t have good theoretical grounding, you can’t really do a good job in tech, eg AI. So, the argument that being “applied” makes you more employable, is BullSh:t.

For those who are unaware, NUS ISS failed to meet its job placement target for its MTech programs. That’s why the gov had withdrawn subsidies for MTEch. It is reported in the news. This means MTech graduates had a hard time finding related jobs.
