I've zero experience with programming for Eclipse RCP plugin.

Is the Eclipse RCP still popular today?

Has it been superseded by other better equivalent technologies from Java or the .Net platform in recent years?

Still worth learning or using?

Think it was popular like in 2005 or 2006 era, but not sure where it is heading now. So thinking whether still worth the effort to learn it.

Eclipse RCP is still one of the popular client platform today. There are still quite a number of products out there based on it. Apache Directory Studio, IBM Tivoli etc.

So I don't think it's going away yet. I suppose Netbeans is the nearest Java competitor. Not aware of other prominent opensource RCP available.

You have to be the one finding value in something, not the thing finding value with you :)
