TMD.. still place the fingerprint at that highly controversial location.. why cant they just move it under the cam and centralize it like others has done ?

trying to save space or want to be diff from others ? If for the sake of convenience, moi dun mind they "copy" others.. :vijayadmin:

It's said that the space below the camera will be filled with the big battery so there's no place for the fingerprint sensor to be below the camera.

Galaxy Note8's dual-camera module said to be the best in its class

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-galaxy-note8s-dual-camera-module-said-be-best-its-class

From article

"..........offer superior image quality (better colors, sharpness and reduced noise) and better bokeh effects (also known as background defocus) than existing dual-camera solutions. ..."

".......consist of two 13MP lens (RGB + Monochrome) with f/2.0 aperture and optical image stabilization...."

".....The latest leak corroborates an earlier prediction by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo; Kuo believes the dual rear cameras will be the "most important upgrade" in the Galaxy Note8. The dual-camera module is likely to be from its recently announced ISOCELL brand, in particular the ISOCELL Dual sub-brand...."
It better be. The dual cam is the only saving grace of Note 8 now, especially if it is going to increase price further

I rather Samsung come out with another model with no fingerprint sensor and sell it cheaper.

Samsung already stated in their fb page that they will NOT be bringing in or selling the refurbished Note7 or Note7 FE or whatever it is going to be called.

But maybe the HQ isn't even sure if they will sell it outside S.Korea?Perhaps see if it is sucsseful, then rollout to more markets.

So I guess Samsung back fingerprint sensor location must forever be in that weird position same row as camera?

Other brand battery also quite big, not sure why they can fingerprint sensor put in the middle better location.

Anyone think this note 8 fingerprint sensor position will accidentally make you press the lens easily?

Anyone thinking of skipping note 8 due to fingerprint position?

If the next flagship dun have on screen FPS, Samsung should just close down already. It's supposed to be in Note 8.

Not saying it's bad, but this Note just feel like the most disappointing Note ever in terms of features.

If buy Note 8 now $1500 and one year later when Note 9 comes out, roughly can sell Note 8 for about how much? Or trade in how much

I think note 9 would be a phone that have functions/design that future phones will be quite similiar. In screen fingerprint sensor, dual back camera, front display without button.

So a fingerprint sensor will determine how good or bad a phone is???

:s11::s11::s11:

Never mind the dual camera will be the best in the market as of now, never mind the screen is one of the best in the market now, never mind the S pen and further improved S pen features, never mind the audio DAC which Samsung is improving with each iterations of their flagships, etc etc etc

The on-screen fingerprint sensor may not be ready for this year's flagship but it will be ready when Samsung is ready to release it

By the way, if you look carefully, the issue of user accidentally touching the lens when trying to use the fingerprint sensor at the back is now eliminated. Samsung has now relocated the LED flash and heartrate monitor to be BETWEEN the fingerprint sensor and dual lens. This means you will be touching the LED flash and heartrate monitor when you are using the fingerprint sensor instead of the lenses.

At least Samsung has tried to improve on the back fingerprint sensor while still figuring out how to implement the on-screen fingerprint sensor for their AMOLED screens

I give Samsung credit for improving on the things customers are complaining about.....

Edited to add images of Note8 and S8+ for comparison
Look carefully the location of the LED flash and heartrate monitor

People was complaining about the fingerprint placement on the Galaxy S8 series before its release, but look at how many people are now still complaining about it?

It all takes time to get used to it..

The relocated the LED flash and heartrate monitor do make it better, but the fingerprint sensor is still at a weird position. More people are more concerned about back fingerprint placement than wanting a in screen fingerprint sensor.

Nobody seems to complain about LG G6 fingerprint sensor location at all.

Someone actually skipped S8 and bought LG G6 only reason is because of S8 weird fingerprint placement http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/106980413-post273.html
