Use dolphin mini browser, set user agent to desktop.
Why not use the HD edition? Dolphin HD?

imagine planting that on your face
Please don't be stupid and buy the 7.0 plus. The 7.7 with Samsung Super AMOLED Plus is going to be released Jan 16th in Singapore. That one has a beautiful non-pentile screen while the rest (CPU,RAM etc) is the same hardware specs as a Note, just blown up to 7.7 which makes websurfing beautiful. Taiwan release price expected to be around $930-$950 SGD equiv so maybe a little more expensive here.

The non GSM only wifi version should be cheaper. Great to pair with a Samsung S2. You get the slim factor and you have a tablet for surfing anywhere.

Back to Note, its so laggy with all the Samsung Bloat. Rooting it and using Rom Toolbox (I find this one of the best apps) to freeze all the stock bloatware, makes it blaze. Like giving viagra and meth to a impotent guy. Samsung really did a disservice to the phone making it crawl like a turtle.

Plus you don't have to use a jig. Just use the CF modified stock roms and it won't adjust your flash counter or pop up the ugly triangle.

Get rid of the stock launcher and use Go Launcher. 5x5 icons on a screen is no longer cramped like on SGS II due to the larger resolution and more expansive screen. Go launcher surprisingly doesn't have a large memory footprint (much less than touchwhiz), unless you're using some really tripped out themes.

Personal preference, but I'd rather not use a screen protector or anything thicker than a slim shell case. The gorilla glass is really really hard to scratch (although possible if you make a concerted effort) and adding a MFIT or the Flip case takes it just over the edge to too big for the pocket. I've seen some screen protectors, especially matt versions that really make the screen washed out.

Lastly, most people hate the way the Note gives a list of all sms etc on the phone log. Download Samsung Log Converter from Android Market (free) and it helps change it to a normal just phone log. Very light footprint as well.

Hope these comments help. It may be in this thread somewhere but I'm not going to read everything and just wanted to share my thoughts on this awesome phone.

Note -> Tab 7.7
Finally a worthy upgrade path for Note users!

The mini is more lightweight. Personally find the hd too laggy.

dolphin HD is very memory and cache intensive, correspondingly, its a huge battery drain. Actually the stock browser is still one of the best. Just no swipe gestures which kinda is a little inconvenient.

Not really an upgrade path I think.

Note is for those who want the convenience of a phone light enough to carry and use for calls without earpiece/bluetooth.

7.7 is the perfect Ipad with useful phone features. 7 inches is the perform form factor for usage outside. Ipad becomes horribly awkward in some places like a crowded mrt train, going through customs/immigration at airport, waiting in a long queue etc...

But still the larger size prevents some usage so you'll probably want to have a back up phone. Imagine going clubbing when you don't want to carry a bag. You'll be the "coolest" cat with the brick in your pocket. The Note doesn't fit too horribly to slacks or jeans.

I would think that users who buy a Note want one phone for everything.
Users who buy the 7.7 want a ipad that they can take everywhere with some convenient phone features as an after thought. Would still probably take a mini or ultra small phone to be a supplement to the 7.7.

Gestures aside, switching between tabs is not as convenient as the dolphin browsers.

Has anybody noticed that sometimes when you download apps from the Market, it'll just show starting download and nothing happens?
