How to clone drive to a larger one?

I have a 128gb ssd partition that I want to move to a larger partition on a 500gb ssd.

On the larger ssd I created a 300gb partition, then I used macrium reflect to clone from the source to this partition. The resulting partition became a 128 gb one.

What's the correct approach? I can't do a copy because it's a windows partition, I don't know if there are hidden files or settings that won't be moved over.

You can use Macrium to clone the drives. The free version would be all you need. Or, if it's a Samsung SSD it comes with cloning software. I have used both and not had any issues.
