Try uninstalling and re-install Chrome.

For bookmarks, passwords and others, do backup &or sync to your google account.
In this way after Chrome is installed you can sync bookmarks/passwords, etc; back.

Alternately do scan for malware, if any.

Chrome on Windows is probably barely usable with only 2Gb of ram. If you are keen maybe switch to a Linux distro instead. Personally I have a Debian VM with only 1.5Gb ram allocated and it is usable with Chromium.

2gb is not enough, you can open up Windows task manager when you open Chrome and see how much it consume your ram in realtime when it starts to lag and crash.

Switch to Firefox or other browser if you can't upgrade your ram.

+1 to linux. Windows on lower end hardware is painful to use unlike linux where it shines

Still got laptop or desktop with 2gb ram?
If you are not planning to upgrade. Uninstall chrome immediately.
If you are planning to continue to use chrome . Then upgrade to 6-8gb.

Chrome is Super memory hunger .
And I think your processor also too old already.

2gb ddr3 memory
