Unhappy Sony mobile exiting Asia market? | Goodbye Sony Xperia phone in SG?

Been a Xperia user for so long, I got used to the:

- Robust Build
- Feature
- Camera button at the side
- Xperia exclusive apps like PS, Spotify and etc. by default.
- Qualcomm QC 3.0 charging

Recently this news surface, I thought SG shouldn't that soon.

https://www.soyacincau.com/2019/01/0...t-asia-market/

When XZ3 released, I find it suspicious why SG don't have it.
Than later on, telecom stop carrying Sony xperia phones.
Just now I went to 313@somerset, they have cleared the
Xperia corner into Party/Rave area promoting party speakers.

Which got me rather sad, even the accessories it's very limited now.
Does this mean Xperia phone will eventually exit SG?
If so, I don't know what brand to go for.

Sammy wise, I just don't like the feel as I used to own the S9.
So sold the S9 went back to Xperia.
Regardless of which, maybe I will get another XZ phone
before it eventually disappear.

It's my opinion, and it may be a wrong one, that those who buy Sony phones are only those who still use Sony phones, ie, Sony can't get any new customers. They can barely retain their existing customers. As more and more jump ship, there will be very few left who would still buy a Sony.

Some/many like me who used to own Sony (me for a very long time) have already jumped shipped. I'm quite happy with my S9plus

A lot of phone users are not brand loyal. They can skip from brand to brand as long as other offers a better price, better feature, better looks etc.

What does Sony mobile offer to retain its existing customers, let alone make it attractive enough for users to jump from other brands and buy a Sony?

Even accessories manufacturers don't have faith in Sony. And now telcos also stopped selling.

I think the stopping of sales from telcos is gonna be the straw that break the camel's back

How many would wanna buy their phone from a Sony shop at RRP? I know got a few rich die hard fans here would. But it won't be enough to sustain our SG market

This forum is getting more and more quiet liao

They only have themselves to blame. They LISTEN, but the changes came too late. They are the number 1 phone camera sensor supplier in the world, but their camera performance was never near the top.

SG market is too small for Sony. HK and Taiwan even have special 6GB ram version...guess their focus shifted

If next XZ4 also not release here, then I guess really bye bye. Since Sony did skipped high-end mobile in the past before...

Really sad to see them go...
Most likely will just go to Google Pixel for me.
Really can't stomach how Android looks on Samsung/Huawei/Oppo/Xiaomi...

Razer, OnePlus and Nokia still ok...but they lack the "all rounder" that the Xperia have.
