Managing Director of Sony India, Kenichiro Hibi, has stated that Sony is planning to launch next-gen Xperia phones and “you can expect a completely new design from the devices”. In other words, OmniBalance that has been employed since 2013 with the Xperia Z may be coming to an end.

Hibi knows the direction that the market is heading - 18:9 phones with bezel-less designs. And Sony may join this design trend with a new device “soon”.

I liked it how the guy in charge merely said they are looking at new designs for their phones and the writer just had to hint they are planning to have near bezel-less design.

Nowadays it seem like hopeful thoughts are playing around with official speeches.
It remains to be seen what other criticism will Sony receive by the next year when new phones come.

This report looks more neutral to me, aside from the comments section.

Sony Xperia H3213 Avenger

Sony is one of the few makers still to adopt the dual camera, but that may soon change with a mid-range device – the Sony Xperia H3213 Avenger. Unfortunately, awesome as it is this is just the code name. We think this could be an XA Ultra device.

The phone sports a 16MP + 8MP camera on the front capable of 4K video capture. The rear camera seems fairly impressive too – a single 21MP sensor that also does 4K video.

Why is not a future flagship then? It’s the Snapdragon 630 chipset paired to 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage. That’s solid foundation for a mid-ranger, but it’s not going to compete with 2018 top dogs.

On the plus side, you’ll get Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Sony is ahead of most of the competition in that respect.

5.7in 4K. Bezel-less. Down side, it's using 835. But this phone will be announce in feb 2018, and that period, you all already know where 845 will be. 2nd half of Sony phones will be using 845 instead.

I see that XZs was announced with dated processing chip but not as flagship phone as there was also XZ Premium.
Again with the old rumour of sammy hogging all new snapdragons for next year, leaving other makers to wait.

It seems to be feeding off the unreliable side of the rumour sources.
Obviously will take it with salt and pepper.

Give Sony xperia phones a bigger battery capacity if possible.
