Concept or real ?
Thai design looks familiar Some whee before hahahhah the apple battery case hahahhah
All Apple fan HardwareZone Forums app
This year's Xperia will likely follow that plate+human concept, which was leaked out during the 2015 Sony Pictures hack.

It's featuring a curved back body concept for ergonomic purpose that will fit comfortably in hand. This also means Sony will officially discontinue the Omnibalance design, that has been lamented as a tired design nowadays. :o

This new plate+human concept that the XZ2 Compact is featuring(and possibly this year's Xperia also) is similar to the Xperia ZR design..

and also similar to the Nokia Lumia 830/930 which has a curved back body

Hope to see few changes/improvement after sony xz premium.

1.type c to be 3.1. So as to transfer files faster.

2. Wireless charging capabilities.

3. Digital audio Dac built in , to make a better listening to song. Sony have this technology, why can't they implement this in their phone. To be the leader in this.
So that everyone buy the phone just to listen to better song.

Thought the points you made, Sony already have them.

1) Type C to 3.1
You need the Sony UCB30 ($39.90 or so) for 3.1 speed.

3rd party or after market one try not to get.

2)
Sony had wireless charging way back during Z2 era.

It didn't work out that good for Xperia that is why it stopped.
Since you need compatible case and the charger.
Samsung had this but to be honest, for charging best use USB cable
than such method.

3) Since Z2, Xperia phone slowly have DSHEE HX engine and etc.
build it into. Go under settings you should be able to see it.
Z2 doesn't have such better DAC but it still sound nice.

It also depend on your earpiece/headphone if you want better sound.
Out of box those earpiece won't do the job so try to invest something better.
A tip from me try to get earpiece/headphone that have in line mic cables.

Can listen to music as well as answer to call.
Unless you have budget get a Wireless headset.
I don't use Xperia for music listening but Walkman instead.
Dedicated music player the SQ is way better than any HP.

Take note big audiophile headphones especially with impedance higher than 24ohms.
You need a DAC to drive them properly as usually handphones can drive 24 ohms comfortably.

Wireless charging is overrated.

It is still fixed at a certain location for charging, except it is not connected by wire.
Not the least convenient when I need to use the phone when charging.

Sony made a earphone and headphone. Rumours that the latest model has removed the 3.5mm jack. That is totally silly.

Sony can always release new earhead phones with USB connections, or create a USB adapter so users can continue to use their existing earphones

The annoying thing is....these phone manufacturers want to remove the headphone jack...but 99% headphone manufacturers still haven't release usb-c headphones...zzz

Having said that, Sony does have some existing accessories...

Make your wired headphone wireless...

Which most are not aware of such accessories.
There are a few wireless headset like a controller type.
Some can control media, answer/hang up call and some
can take photo.

Really useful compare with standard BT headsets.

Putting the sony logo on the bottom is a bad idea. If u want to promote yr phone u put it at the most prominent location.

Anyway this design should have been out Las year.. Sony is slowest to adopt this latest look but finally it is coming.

I love the omnibalance design of previous phones but it is way overdue for a new look

Could this be the design of the third flagship?
If you zoom in, the speaker arrangement is not the same as what is on the XZ series.
