those who are vested in wanting to vest in GLP please do read

https://www.perenews.com/Free_Articl..._who_went_big/

very good read, very inspiring

i am still doing my research on GLP and may take a long position
Just jettison some of your ARA and buy GLP. Somehow i feel your ARA is like a Mickey mouse beside the polar bear GLP. Please don't scold me, I am logging off for the weekend now....

Slowly going in..

yield for this stock to me is not a concern at the moment.

They can jolly well pay 10% yield if they want. But they are not a Reit, there is so much room for growth, rather they pay out less for now and more in the future

ARA is pure asset manager, like black rock

GLP is more of logistic properties
If you look at glp closely, they are not just a pure logistic asset owner.

They buy and build properties, some of them they rent out and some of them they cluster into a fund and sell it off to strategic investors. But they still manage these properties and they collect management income. One of their strategy is to increase these management income

Haha true story. A lot are in fair value gains though.

From SGX:
Price/Book Value 0.665 P/E Ratio 9.696
Dividend Yield 3.28% EV/EBITDA 23.501

Based on EV/EBITDA (taking away fair value gains), does not look cheap at all!

after digging deep, i realize that over the past 4 years GLP did 2 big placement before, and also 1 issue of pref shares

sianzzzzz, quite turn off with that
seems like alot of articles warning us that GLP is not cheap...

the bet on GLP is getting riskier and riskier as u dig more lol. It might just break the 1.60 support...

this red flag gave me a pause on buying GLP, guess I will put on watchlist... and wait for thurs results before re evaluating

"Corporate actions have also not benefitted shareholders. Most significant event for GLP was the China Investor Consortium's investment of USD 2.3 billion in the 34% stake of the whole China's operation for GLP (inclusive of the China's fund management business) in Feb 2014. The transaction implies a 1.05x net tangible asset for the consortium as compared to GLP's valuation of around 1.3x in 2014. Both Jeffrey and Ming subscribed for 56.75 million shares each in the New China Holdco (66% owned by GLP now) at the same price (US$1) as the China Investor Consortium and where it was financed by loans from the investment consortium. The 2 guys were also given another 21 million options each in the New China Holdco should an IRR of 15% be achieved for the China Investor Consortium. Given the significant contribution of the China's portfolio to GLP, the deal was probably destructive to shareholders."
Why is GIC allowing them to do that (when GIC is also a shareholder)? This company is getting harder to understand.

They have to sell a stake to Chinese state owned company to get more land. China will only release more land to state-owned related companies.
