based on current share price 4.04

the dividend yield is 3.22%

Their cash holding of $929 million really no horse run. These will provide support for the stock and plus order books to run thru 2019

Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary inks US$214.3 million contract to supply jack-up rigs

Published on Feb 26, 2014
10:20 PM

A subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine - PPL Shipyard - inked a US214.3 million (S$271.3 million) contract with a unit of Marco Polo Marine (MPM) to supply a turnkey jack-up rig.

The contract includes an option for two similar jack-up rig units to be exercised by MPM, the company said on Wednesday.

The rig is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2015, and is able to operate in deeper waters of 400 ft and drilling high pressure and high temperature wells to depths of 30,000 ft.

Mr Seah Lee Yun Feng, the group chief executive of MPM, said the agreement with PPL Shipyard "marks the start of a significant leap forward in terms of our operations and service offerings".

New yards to boost newbuild and ship repair capacity.

Its new yard in Tuas is operational and we expect stronger ship repair work from vessels delivered in 2008-09 that need to carry out their first special survey. It appears that its Brazilian yard is slightly delayed and will now be ready for operations in 2H14 vs its initial guidance of 2Q14.

Re-iterate BUY, SMM is our Top Pick for rig building

We are positive on SMM as the outlook for its offshore orders remains strong and we see scope for margins to surprise on the upside. We expect SMM to expand its orderbook with SGD5bn of new wins in 2014 compared with SGD4.2bn in 2013. We maintain our EPS estimates and our SOP-based TP of SGD5.40, which implies a FY14F P/E of 19x.

You see most brokerage analysis firm target price 4.80 or >5 bucks. Are they tricking us to buy?
u are wrong. I dunno where you got your unreliable source from

The average analyst is targeting this at $4.621. Average of 23 analysts.

when they ask you to buy, means they are selling...below 4 then can buy.
close to 3.9 would be decent entry price.

I've seen this many times. Haha, but its still $4.3+/$4.4+
Will Sembmarine's Transocean orders be a gamechanger? Hard to decide whether to be vested or not although margins will likely be depressed

What’s New
Top US driller Transocean has placed orders for two ultra-deepwater drillships, worth USD540m each, with Sembcorp Marine (SMM). It also has options to purchase three more units, to be exercised within 12/18/24 months. The drillships are of the same design as the seven units SMM is building for Sete Brasil. This big contract follows yesterday’s order win for a USD214.3m jackup unit from Marco Polo. It immediately bumps up SMM’s YTD order win to USD1.3b/SGD1.6b, about 32% of our full-year forecast of SGD5.1b.

I bot at 4.00 to punt short to mid term.

Likely to reach 4.20 sooner or later which is the company share buyback price.

Also waiting for any positive news to act as catalyst for a rally.
