IBKR charges 0.08% minimum S$2.50

If IBKR can be profitable charging 0.08%, even SCB might be in danger.

Need to read up on the e-commerce provisions of TPP to see whether SGX can continue prevent IBKR from offering brokerage services to Singaporeans who want to trade on SGX.

Otherwise, can buy property in Malaysia, apply for IBKR using Malaysia address, and use IBKR to trade SGX stocks.

if it's really illegal and anti competition for sgx to prevent us our rights as singaporean from using interactive broker to trade sgx, someone must really do something about it like writing a protest letter to Mas or bring it up to our finance minister

But minimum $2.50. Scb minimum charges is $0.01 due to rounding lol.

Today my order near closing time didn't get through to the exchange, LOL!

Think their brokerage firm got problem, couldn't take my order out to the market (I entered an order at sell queue price, so no issue about queuing). Maybe in-house matching too slow to respond, or not enough bandwidth to handle the load? LOL

I doubt so, I happen to place a trade at 5pm sharp today and it was match and done.

1. Market order is buy at market, whatever the price available for you to fulfill your order immediately. Limit order is you state the price you want to buy. You join into the queue until the market price came down to meet your price.
market order to fill your order immediately, meaning it's sold at the ask price or bidding price of current buyers?

They are quite instantaneous. For my STI ETF monthly purchase I would place an order through them, and at the same time refresh the SGX page to see the Buy Volume number. It did register within 1 second.

The no min commission was the only factor that attracted me to use scb despite the lack of mobile app.

Yep. That's the reason why most of us are using scb. Hopefully they will be investing in creating mobile apps for trading with their 1 billion.
