The 10 Best Construction Stocks For Dividends And Growth
August 26th, 2019

  • Sherwin-Williams (SHW)
  • Deere & Company (DE)
  • Johnson Controls (JCI)
  • Williams-Sonoma (WSM)
  • Home Depot (HD)
  • Lowe’s Companies (LOW)
  • Whirlpool (WHR)
  • Leggett & Platt (LEG)
  • Caterpillar (CAT)
  • Fluor Corporation (FLR)

Final Thoughts
While construction stocks can be cyclical and sometimes volatile, they also offer investors access to long-term macroeconomic demand factors. The companies listed here represent different ways for investors to capitalize on construction in various capacities, and are strategically aligned to long-term economic forces.

These companies should maintain profitability and dividend payments under all but the worst economic circumstances. Most offer decent returns, but some offer double-digit total return potential.

We rank Fluor, Caterpillar and Leggett & Platt as the strongest picks for investors looking to gain exposure to what should be a booming industry for decades to come (except during recessions, when investors must hold to take advantage of prosperous times). These are stocks one can buy and own for a very long time to come.

[QUOTE]
When it comes to dividend stocks, there is often a trade-off between yield and safety. In many cases, the higher the yield, the less secure that payment tends to be, and vice-versa.

Intuitively, this makes sense. If a company is only paying out 10% of its earnings in the form a dividend, a whole lot has to go wrong in order for that payment to be in jeopardy.

On the other end of the spectrum, if a high-yield stock is paying out 100% of its earnings as dividends, even a small hiccup in the business can put the dividend in danger of being reduced.

3 High Quality Dividend Stocks With 5%+ Yields
  • AT&T (T)
  • Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.B)
  • Altria (MO)

Final Thoughts

In short, the three companies above offer starting dividend yields in excess of 5% with strong underlying business models to boot. This does not mean that the securities must perform well in the future. However, there is a precedent for the strong income streams leading the way for reasonable or better returns. If you’re looking for an above average income stream – and particularly if you don’t want to be forced to sell shares in the future – these securities offer a nice starting list for that endeavor.

The Basics of REIT Investing for Passive Income
August 28, 2019

Final Thoughts

Real estate has proven to be a great way to build long term wealth and a steady and growing stream of passive income. With access to publicly traded REITs, every investor can begin building wealth and an entirely passive income stream today. In fact, many investors would be better served over the long term by investing solely in REITs instead of physical real estate.

Despite this, many investors lack the proper mentality to invest in publicly traded securities as they will panic at the first sign of extreme market volatility and sell their REIT shares at a loss. Other investors prefer to have as much control as possible over their investments and therefore also prefer to invest in physical real estate. For those that can handle the volatility and prefer total passivity to their income-generating investments, however, REITs are the ideal passive income generating investment.

Not performing to expectation.

If you look at HD and my many others dividends grower on the CCC list, they don't only grow dividends, they grow in price as well. Both combined, it usually yields more than 5%pa, some as much as 10%++pa. These are 2 things that when combined will compensate for the 30% dividends taxes.

DIS is something I held on though. I hope it don't disappoint.
LEG, I will still be holding, selling it will only make sense later due to cost issues.
