Nothing on Android can beat the price and quality of iPad. Tab is too expensive now.

Agree for the quality, as the OS itself will make the performance different a lot.

Agree. This is probably the best tablet for Android right now.

The reality is, none of the Android tablets are anywhere close to the hardware and build of the new iPad Pro now. The Samsung Tab S3 is probably close to the cheapest iPad.

Yes, agree that iPad the best tablet now but need an equivalent Android tablet this round for some testing.

The iPad 2017 is only $498 and I can't find any equivalent Android tablet at that price point it seems...

If you are looking for a speedy Android device, the unfortunate fact is that you can only find them on mobile phones/ phablets. I feel all Android tablets are very poor value for money as compare to their smaller mobile phone counterparts.

As mentioned on another thread, I would prefer to spend 260 - 280 SGD to purchase a Xiaomi Mi Max 2 than to buy a similarly priced Android tablet simply because the build and specs on the Mi Max 2 will handily beat even a mid range Android tablet that cost as much as 600 bucks. The faster Samsung Tab S3 is significantly more expensive with an RRP of 898 bucks.

Not true. Mi max 2 use SD625 processor. Eg a 64G version you are likely to pay around $345 depending on agent stock or parallel importer one.

The Lenovo tab 4 is 8", also on same SD625 processor. Selling at $449. So it depend on your primary useage is as a phone or tablet.

I was pretty disappointed in them using the SD625, while the old Mi Max was using the superior SD650.

Anyway, the cheapest Mi Max 2 I found with 4GB ram and 64GB storage is 269 + 4.50 for shipping on Qoo10 from the seller, New****. It even comes with dual SIM for 4G connectivity or SD card expansion. So in terms of value, I still feel no Android tablets can beat this. Unless one needs the big screen, then that is another story.

Anyway Android tablet spec on resolution is much lower.

Lenovo tab 8 is 800 x 1280 pixels while iPad is much higher 1536 x 2048 pixels.

Even 10" Android tablet is about 1900 x 1200 pixels, example.

Hence it is hard to compare to most features...

Get the latest Google Chromebook.
Like tablet but cost $1K+.

Most likely to compete with iPad and MS Surface.

I believe ppl who use tablet before/often will know/consider that 7.85 or 9.7 in are the best size/most optimum of screen/ratio aspect for tablet that with ~300 g or 500g for the best user experience..no point comparing those below size which don't give the real experience of tablet..that's y we have different categories of mobile device: mobile phone, phablet and tablet. Compare apple to apple will definitely make more sense.

The user experience will be an important factor also.
The user should try out those display/working sets perhaps within the same price range to see which one really works best for him (as combination of hardware and optimized OS, human factor, build quality, features and etc) as sometimes listed spec may not reflect truly how the real hands on experience will be.
