Any good replacement for Samsung Tab S2

I am currently using S2 for ebook, kindle and surfing which I am very happy with. However, the battery is heating up very often, maybe going to uplorry soon.

I tried Tab A8 but very slow, the other models too big. Any suggestion of other brands, models that can replace S2?

I thought about getting back the S2 but the OS seems to be old and some apps are not supported.

too big. My S2 is 8", I am looking for similar size tablet.

S3 is 9.7 and S4 10.1.

Amazon HD8 good and cheap but specs might not suit your expectations.
Plus, you have to install Google services yourself.

Lenovo Tab4 8 / 8 Plus is decent but overpriced in my opinion.

Huawei Mediapad not bad overall but i think no 3.5mm jack and you have to see if you can tolerate their EMUI skin.

I have the S2. Battery life is about 82%. I use the tablet for bedside reading because it is very light at 294g. The screen resolution is very good at 2560 x 1600 pixels for a pixel density of 359ppi and is good as a reader.

I will replace this tablet if the next one is so light and has such resolution but I cannot find it at the moment.

Definitely waiting for the Galaxy Tab5e as well... looking good for a decent tablet... pity it's like 10.5 inches... no free MS Office... sadly... don't want to pay subscription lar...
