MS didn't do advertisement in Singapore for Surface & many bloggers are too into Apple & Google to bother with MS. To them, MS is dead or non-existant.

MS Singapore should really do a big ad campaign in Singapore on Free-to-air channels & also CableTV & MioTV channels!

Surface RT reviews are coming in.

The Verge is ambivalent about it. Gizmodo pans it while Engadget is excited about it.

Depends on what you like? I think most of the RT tablets are rather similar. Same chipset, same screen resolution etc etc. The Asus one is probably the stand out with it's keyboard add-on that has an additional battery in it.

Yeah, now thinking twice abt pulling the trigger for the surface.

Asus vivoRT looks quite good too and price is close to surface, but think it's overpriced in S'pore

Yeah, most stuff are over-priced in Singapore.

The Surface is very cool with the keyboard cover and kickstand though. I have the 1st Gen Transformer (android tablet) with the keyboard and I hardly ever bring the keyboard dock out with me due to the additional bulk. I am not sure about the latest generation keyboard docks though, they might have gotten lighter. I know for sure they got slimmer.

I can safely say that in terms of hardware, the MS Surface will be a very worthwhile investment because the Magnesium casing is super durable so it'll probably last longer than the average tablet.

Software-wise, yes Win RT has some bugs, Apps are few now but don't forget that Windows 8 also support WinRT apps so most developers will be stupid not to target a market that's 3-4 times bigger than OSX+iOS on iPad.

Ramp up of apps will grow much faster than WP7 which is already very impressive given the small userbase. I doubt it'll hit 100k apps by the end of 2012 but I could be wrong.

Lastly, many of the apps that they reviewed may still be compiled from the older beta versions of Visual Studio so performance may not be 100% + MS is just updating their 1st-party app from last week.

What will be interesting is how the Atom-based Clovertrail Win8 tablets from OEMS will perform compared to WinRT because the battery life should be similar, around 8 hours. I haven't seen any real review on those yet. I would also like to see how the Acer W700 with Core i3 performs because that is the closest to the Surface Pro in terms of specs.
