A quick update on my case:

From Microsoft:
However, to receive 2 defective units of the same product within such a short period of time leads me to believe that there is possibly an issue with the Surface 2 (32GB) units that are shipping to Singapore. This is something the business group and Surface Support is looking into, and I have requested that any updates be delivered to me as they become available.

O.o never mention about the refund or you already receive your refund ? Secondly.. it seems does not concern you anymore... since you will not get the most update of this issues. Even if there are updates what can you do about it?

Microsoft its organisation is so big... one representative... will not be able to handle this unless the CEO of the organisation starts to focus... on SG then we might see something done.

MS processed the refund to me alr. Thats his reply, but I think he's just being polite to update. I can't be bothered anymore, hope to see the money in my bank now.

lol.
you were lucky.

2 months back, i already cannot find pro 1 anywhere in SG.
i rounded and called up whatever branch of harvey norman, challenger, newstead to hunt it down. even went to those branches which they said have but in the end don't have.

ms don't seem to be interested anymore. coz, they are not even launching pro 2.

For the price of surface 2, I think it is pretty good despite I think IPad and Andriod system has a better apps base.

SG to them not important.... haiz... maybe time to change operating system all to linux and use free office words... ODF now is quite a common file extension...

Second could be busy ramping their SP Pro 3 and decided not to waste resources on a tiny dot on the map

The US Microsoft Store reflects a 10% drop in price across all it's SP2 tablets. Which could mean that we'll be seeing the SP3 launching really soon (in the US).

Meanwhile, a lot of us in Singapore are still waiting for the SP2 to launch.

To put a positive spin on this, Microsoft may just totally skip the SP2 and give us the SP3.

Or just give us the SP2 but at a discounted price.

I think the size of the current SP2 is perfect. Perhaps they can shrink the bezel a little to accomodate a larger display (11") and yet keep the tablet to the same dimensions.

I might be reaching but perhaps one of the reasons why MS hasn't launched the SP2 here is because they did not want to undercut or eat into their partners sales (DELL, Lenovo, etc).
