Its sweet no doubt. something refreshing. but the price is too steep for people to jump to a new platform altogether...

will be waiting for the full specs before i make a decision...
If they launch this here tomorrow, I'm getting one. Was holding off on the SP2 purchase from overseas.

ain't gonna happen though. It's Microsoft Singapore afterall.

it was a big and impossible "if".

I don't know if this competes with netbooks.

the general mass market do not think like us. The lack of full tablet capabilities like games, apps, games, apps and craps and full notebook capabilities like gaming, craps and more craps will make ppl look away from it.

i think MS will lose market share again. On the surface, this product looks promising in the hands of techies. But when it flows down to the mass market, thats where u will see what people really wants.

No doubt, MS is gonna market like a device in its own brand new class. But how many people can actually accept it?

U let someone choose between a SP3 and an notebook of the same price. What will people choose? or u let someone choose between a iPad and SP3. What will people choose?

However, this will be a very cheap replacement for companies or new start-ups. Once again, microsoft is shunning the mass market ans concentrating on the B2B market

Prices are actually out on MS Singapore's store:

Core i3, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage - S$1108
Core i5, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage - S$1348
Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage - S$1,728
Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage - S$2,138
Core i7, 8GB RAM, 512GB storage - S$2,698

Says preorders will be shipped by 31 August...

Looks like a viable concept considering MS defied rumors of going small and competing in Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 range instead.

I'll just wait for display units to hit stores before making up my mind... Considering a tablet/laptop hybrid to bring to school. But oh that price... Doesn't include accessories as always.

Yea man.. at 1k+ most ppl can make do with a netbook with spare change.. like i said, the SP3 is not really targetted at the mass market.. they r looking at e business and professionas market.

SP3 does nt really meet the requirements of a normal mass market. But still, i m willimg to wait for it and see hw it goes
