There's a jailbreak available now btw, you can unlock the Surface RT to run any Win32/desktop apps as long as it have been recompiled to ARM.

[Release] RT Jailbreak Tool - xda-developers
Desktop apps ported to Windows RT - xda-developers

Just remember to disable Windows update via RegEdit and only update things selectively when needed. Microsoft may patch this soon.

Just did a few tweaks to the home screen too, with 4 grid of tiles instead of 3.

I wasn't able to buy from Microsoft store for some reason.. it kept rejecting my credit card despite having a valid info + vPost account. Expansys works anyway, I got it within 2 days after paying.

This is extremely helpful, thank you!

Unfortunately, it's one of those things that requires a higher level of expertise that I just don't have...plus I'll need people to help recompile programs that just aren't on the list...

(actually, they're recompiling what looks like quite esoteric programs...)

Note that the RT workaround to run Win32 programs need to be run every time you restart the tablet. It isn't permanent like that of a iOS jailbreak.

Hey everyone, you guys purchased your surface from Microsoft website via shipping services? Got what shipping services reliable ah?
And also, if it spoils, how to send it for warranty?
PS. Anyone has a set available to sell?

Personally, I think why pay 10 bucks for a dual sim every month.
My phone is always on me and gives my Surface LTE speed.

Because some people dun have to pay extra every month for an extra sim. And no need to see phone battery die together with tablet.

Mobile Broadband Wireless Modem

Bros,

Does anyone know if Win RT Surface can connect to anyone of these Mobile Broadband Wireless Modems? Both the Huawei doesnt list Win 8 or RT in their specification, but if it works as WiFi hot spot, shouldnt the surface RT connect to it?

HUAWEI E5331 - HUAWEI E5331 - Huawei Device Co., Ltd..

HUAWEI E586 - HUAWEI E586 - Huawei Device Co., Ltd..

Mobile Broadband PR39 Wireless Modem from Starhub?

Or any other mobile broadband modems for Surface RT?

Yogam.

So it won't arrive in January as originally planned, but better a little late than never, right? Microsoft just announced that its Surface Pro tablet will go on sale February 9th in the US and Canada, with wide retail availability beyond just Microsoft.com and Microsoft Stores. As you may have already read, the device will start at $899 for the 64GB model, and $999 for the 128GB version. Whichever you choose, a pressure-sensitive pen comes in the box; the keyboard does not (that'll be $120 or $130, depending on whether you get the Touch or Type Cover).
