as a student, it doesnt make sense to get the latest and greatest becos they cost premium in the beginning. you should wait a while more for the price to drop or get a used one later. if not, the sp3 i5 works perfectly too

The SP3 is an old model and it's no longer available in the store except the lowest or highest end models. Doubt the sp4 price will drop much as well...

US store allows for more configurations
i5 8gb 512gb
This is perfect for me. Singapore store doesn't allow for much customizations.

NOOB QUESTION: Does the SP4 comes with international warranty?
contemplating buying from the states

from what i understand for the surface line, u can send your broken set to singapore service centre and they will repair/replace locally. however, if the configuration is not available here, u will hv to wait for the replacement to ship here.

You want so big SSD for what? In the event of the set screwed up the service centre will just replace another set for you. They'll not retrieve all the data stored in your 512 GB SSD and help you to transfer to the new set, ok?

I had my SP3 replaced by a new set last time due to touchscreen problem. Just like that.

Just curious, those waiting for student discount, are you all 'really' students?
