Still using it with Validus custom rom.

My best Android tablet experience is still the Nexus 7.
Shield Tab got better specs but like the software cannot use it properly.

Wait to see what next Android tablet will gain big dev support then see if want to buy :p
Hanging on to the Shield Tab for now.

My N7 1st generation is now a music player connected to a soundbar with the POGO dock.

My N7 first gen USB port spoil, thought of getting pogo dock but hard to find at that time. So eventually got N7 2nd gen, then got enticed by Shield Tab's more superior specs and nice price and got a Shield Tab.

Actually USB port not difficult to fix on the N7 1st generation. I replaced mine as well. Just follow Youtube videos back then.

Paid quite a high price on Ebay for the pogo dock.

Not that new of a ROM.
Tried it a few months ago and switched back to the unofficial Lineage OS 14.1.

This ROM drain battery too fast for my device and has random reboots too.

Now I don't feel motivated to update also as theres nothing going on for this tablet already, only security patches.
Want to buy new tablet but the Samsungs too expensive so I'll probably use my Nvidia till it spoil.

Huh... I actually have opposite experience and had poor battery standby while using LOS 14.1

In fact I have had bettery standby time in the past whenever I tried Oreo roms but had to revert due to lack of HW acceleration.

Current rom not only fixed the issue and have better standby time for me.

You should check out the new Samsung Tab A7. I would have bought it had it been smaller than 10.4 inches. Price is decent, only $300 for WiFi version.

Hmm
The battery could be because my unit the battery already going bad.
But the random reboots are real for me, like everyday will suddenly reboot at least once while using.

I see Tab A7 like Exynos, remember people say Exynos is no good.
Then I see Mi Pad 4 has Snapdragon should be more dev friendly?
