Not too familiar with that, is it something like Google's equivalent of Dex?
yup its like what dex mode. but im pretty sure that such innovation that gives rise to this features will be the Motorola ATRIX. (the 1st android phone that allows u to have a full desktop features.)

Seriously Dex on phone dun really make sense to me. Need monitor, keyboard and mouse (dun mention Dex Station), chances are there's already a pc around if I have all these.

But Dex in-built into Tab S4 is really enticing and make a lot of sense to me.
oh ofc, that's where razer comes out with the laptop dock (which could be taken from motorla atrix's lapdock) that features all those things u listed

Here’s the deal: I don’tÂ*wantÂ*a Windows 10 tablet. My Windows 10 desktop PC is essential in my home office, and my Windows 10 laptop is critical at work. But I still need a tablet in my life, and I want my tabletÂ*to be Android. I prefer Google’s mobile interface, andÂ*itsÂ*mobile app ecosystemÂ*isÂ*farÂ*superior to Windows' offerings. Android app versions often have better features and get more frequent updates, and oftentimes Windows versions of the mobile apps I need don’t even exist.Â*
.
Same sentiment why I dun really want a windows 2-in-1

TBH for that price, i'll rather get Surface Go 8GB RAM+128GB SSD + Keyboard cover.

Anything i want to run through android will turn to Nox or bluestack.

Pentium Gold 4415Y found on Surface Go seeming have better CPU performance over Snapdragon 845. This is the only closest comparison i could find on web:

https://liliputing.com/2018/05/windo...ragon-845.html

https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu...ulticore_score

Of course, GPU department will be a totally different league on S4..

But Surface Go is running full fledge WIN 10 desktop (assuming most will go for this option) while Tab S4 is still a mobile device fundamentally

The review seems bad, conclusion of the review, don't buy it.

Saw another bad review also.

Seems that in terms of All Android Tablets currently offered, Huawei Mediapad M5 seems the best choice to go.

Technically it's the best Android tablet avaliable with the interesting Dex, but factor in the price it becomes very hard to swallow with the specs it's offering

CPU really depends. If the processor is running an emulator, it will surely take a performance hit, whether its emulating Android or vice versa.

Also as you have rightly pointed out, the GPU on the Intel chip is just poor. So gaming is likely out of the question.

In fact majority of the reviews are not good, i.e a middling score. Performance is not good too, especially even when compared to an iPad 2018, which cost less and still beating the S4.

Personally, I feel DEX is good for mobile phones where you can dock and use it on a bigger screen. On a tablet, it is less useful.

Price wise, I feel the low demand really limits the economies of scale to build this. Therefore, it cannot be competitively priced.

Hmm, how come? Monitor, keyboard and mouse, which place is going to have all these in the absence of an actual PC? Not to mention you have to carry your Dex Station along.

On tablet with the keyboard cover however, it's true portability. And if you do want to use on a big screen, the tablet can be connected to one too without the DeX station.
