Ah, then it is still Netflix's 'fault' since it's a limitation of the app itself. So even if you install Netflix on any other Android tablet - the scenario is the same.

This guy figured it out - https://youtu.be/kOObpOw-V5U

Fastforward to 3 mins.
No, he didn't. I guess you misunderstood him. Netflix simply doesn't support 1080p or HDR on Tab S5e. Not sure when they will do so.

No, I didn't misunderstood him.

That's what I mentioned. The Netflix app doesn't support 1080p. But if you use a browser instead (specific browsers mentioned), and visit Netflix using the browser, you'll be able to view 1080p. Don't use the app, use a browser if you want 1080p. In this case, it's the limitation of the Netflix app itself and not the hardware of the S5e

Then the link I gave - the guy "discovered" that there is no HDR support in Netflix (and Amazon Prime) - even if the panel supports HDR. That's what I mean when I said 'this guy figured it out'.

Which browser on S5e can play Netflix videos? Those that I tried either redirect to the app or - if set to Desktop - simply say "streaming error".

Ah. I thought you meant he figured out how to make it work, because that's what "figure out" means (not merely discovering a problem).

You will potentially only see the difference if you do benchmarks/copy large, I mean really large files to the tablet.

anyone bought $480 deal from qoo10? is it safe?

edit: I've never used qoo10 before so I'm not sure if I should take this chance to try.

Good news. The latest Netflix app now supports 1080p on Tab S5e. Still no HDR support though.

Yup. Many retailers seems to be continuing the same selling price as the show. Maybe too much stocks indented and they cant finish selling.

Anyway, guys, if you happen to purchase the tablet recently after 23rdAug, I think you might be also entitled to trade up promotion.
