Lolz i guess it varies with different cars, one i rented still roll down pretty fast, nowadays some comes with gear shifter (i.e with - & + sign)

so do you simply off engine once it rolls down at suitable speed?
did some reading, and it seems that scooter CVT will unlock & freewheel once rpm drops below certain threshold
Low gear until sibeh slow.
Pek chek until dulan.

personally still prefer to go by airport MRT, more spacious, can stretch & no traffic jam

traveling in car, no matter how luxury it looks still feels caged up
Taipei City to Airport is 1000twd or at least 900 twd ...
about $ 40.50

researching for my taipei trip ...
If buy from klook, using camry sedan ...
price is about $36.80

or can co-share with others, one person is about $13.30
taking bus or airport train is about $7+ already ...

U try hehuanshan lor.
Then u may advise better.
What car did u rent?
I rented a ford fiesta from Avis.
Nowadays usually pay more than usual.
More comfort in the car than jap car.

but rent in other countries au, nz, jp
mostly honda, toyota, nissan, suzuki or hyundai

the newer fiesta or focus should have, try looking for +/- button on the gear knob
