There are plenty of hotels near Taipei main station, depend on your budget. Caesar hotel and Palais de Chine are good choices but they are not new. Or Cityinn, a few branches nearby.

It's hard for Ximending, most reviews will complain either walls too thin can hear neighbors or downstairs shops ongoing past midnight.
I stayed at Ximen puri once, I find it acceptable though, but space abit small

most of the budget hotel/hostel have small rooms, even family rooms. branded hotels will have big rooms, but will costs much more.

Stayed at Cosmos Hotel b4. One of the hotels above TMS underground. Not bad. Pricing around $130+-.

Seeking advice for following itinerary. As to whether anything else to add on, and is it worth it. Thanks!

14 Nov 台中一日遊 ($8K NTD for 2 Vehs)
台中高鐵出發、彩虹眷村、新社古堡、百菇莊、東東芋圓、中社花市、高美濕地、入住台中飯店(建議可選擇逢甲周邊飯店)。

15 Nov 台中- 清境 ($8K NTD for 2 Vehs)
台中飯店出發、18度C巧克力工坊、日月潭遊湖、文武廟、清境農場(可看馬術秀、青青草原照相)、天空步道、伊拿谷景觀歺廳晚歺、入住清境民宿。

16 Nov 清境-花蓮 ($10K NTD for 2 Vehs)
走山路跟沿路的景點風景、還有太魯閣的峽谷風光.

Cingjing farm weekday no sheep shearing show. (only weekend)
14 Nov, perfect if can add 921 earthquake museum even better.
15 Nov, limited time in cingjing is a bit wasted. if can add Old England (老英格蘭) will be good.

天空步道 you go in the afternoon will be hot! I got sunburn even though the weather is 10+ degree.

Yea, that's why I say 14/11 is perfect. Also depend how long they spend in 1 attraction.
