Question 8D7N Taichung/Kaohsiung

I be going to Taiwan end of this month, this time round wish to try explore Taichung and Kaohsiung. Maybe will spend around 3 days each to experience as much as I could (hopefully).

Can some pros here advise on the places of interest to visit at these 2 areas? many thks.

my brief research is sun moon lake and cingjing @ Taichung, fo guang shan, love river and pier 2 @ Kaohsiung.

Taichung attractions usually very ulu type, so if you use public transport like bus/train, you still need to walk a distance. To save the trouble, you can hire a driver to do all the ulu one first, then diy the rest.
Another problem is Taichung attraction are very scatter, so difficult to cover many ulu place in a day.

self drive is always an option. i always enjoy driving in taiwan. rather stress free once you overcome the left side drive portion (usually 30mins from taking car). petrol is cheap, people are friendly, google map is accurate, you control the time and can always wander off to mini adventures along your travels.

kaohsiung when you are at the night market, try this fried chicken cutlet call angel cutlet. best i ever had in taiwan. crispy and savoury on the outside, juicy and sweet on the inside. bokoleng sala one. its damn good.
