Not necessarily, Last year it was still about 32C in Oct.

Hey,be adventurous. Go to Wulai, See the sights there and try a New Hot Spring :
The Pause Landis-Wulai- Reg: NT800/- NTD/200 discount - only for entry on regular days to their public Hot Spring No time limit -(Could mean weekdays-Not Weekend and Public holidays) 5* Hotel.
For 1.5 hrs, Private Rooms at NTD1000 up. Seems quite reasonable. You can email thenm for more info. Weekdays cheaper.
http://www.pauselandis.com.tw/english/english.htm Beautiful rooms!!!!
The Scenery better than Beitou and the Wulai Waterfall is great too.

Actually I have recommended Wulai many times earlier as an alternative to Peitou but Peitou is closer to Danshui therefore convenient . (Could be other Forums) But Wulai is nice, scenic and not too far from Taipei City and can take half a day..
Take MRT To Hsientien then Outside take bus to Wulai: About 25 mins ride
Wulai:
Echoes of the Atyatal

Wulai Native

Cable Car

Yun Hsien

P.S. Pause Landis is New Established - I think mid last year.

Hot Spring:
Public- 1 PAX NTD800/- (Less NT200/- with Coupon)

Double Bathhouse NTD1000/ 1 hr (2 persons)
View Bathhouse NTD1800 1.5hrs (2 persons)
Theme Bathhouse NTD2500 1.5hrs (2 persons)
Can ask for discount (10%) Sunday to Thursday . (Recheck once here)

Hi...that info sure was usefull... if the scenery there is nicer, I think Il be changing my itinery from beitou to wulai...Ive checked up the taipei mrt map and there seems to be no Hsientien station, nearest I could find was Xindian which is at the end of the green line? hmm...are my eyes playing a fool on me huh...
