yes they are repeated MANY MANY times. but none go into details on where exactly it is. they only talk about how they go there. which is normally by bus or train. but i do not know their exact location. get it?
get a MAP. maps can be found online. i found the mrt map online and i also found the map of taipei online. there's such a thing call google search.

map of taipei mrt http://www.taiwan-map.com/en_mrt.asp

you don't have to know EXACTLY where the place is. you just know to know where jiufen is, in north, south, east or west. Or keelung is near to jiufen or not, etc, in order to plan your itinerary. people have already said that you can go to jiufen and keelung as they are in the same area. and you can also go to tamshui from jiufen and keelung. if you are bad at planning an itinerary, better to take part in a package tour and you don't have to do research.

if you are lost in taipei, OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND ASK the people there. how to go into details on where exactly a place is in a forum? must tell you what bus nbr to take and how many stops before you reach a destination? No right?

people here have benefited from the advices given earlier without the need to go into exact details. if they can, why can't you?

if you type 'taipei map' at yahoo search, you will be able to find this website http://www.taiwan-map.com/

Hi peeps. Im leaving on thurs for taipei already. been planning my itinerary but i dun understand some places. please clear my doubts asap. thanks guys
getting 'help' only 2 days before your departure?

where is jiu fen? where is keelung? where is yeliu? is it in taipei? near danshui or what?

what about hualien? how do i go there?

i have planned everything in taipei but jus the above duno where so duno how to slot in..

please give recommendations and help...been reading this thread reallyveery long liaop...
if you type in hualien at yahoo search, you can find this website http://tour-hualien.hl.gov.tw/english/index.htm

same for jiufen.....http://www.asia-planet.net/taiwan/taipei-amuse.htm

danshui (tamshui) is in taipei while keelung and jiufen are outside of taipei. the airport you will be arriving in is in taoyuan country, also not in taipei. i think you need to get a map.

if you need 'help' and 'advices' be friendly.

I tried to post message here,It said it was too long!!!
So I'll break it up:

where is jiu fen? where is keelung? where is yeliu? is it in taipei? near danshui or what?
One day trip:
Yeilou :Take a Kuo Kuang (02-2558 3060) Bus from the North Station of KuoKuang
Bus in Taipei Near Taipei Main Station to Yeliou (NT80 per head).
See the sites there Mainly unique Rock formations. From there take a Keelung
Bus to the Keelung Main Station. From the front of the Keelung Railway Station
take a Keelung Bus to Jinguashih,Then work your way backwards to Jioufen and
Rueifang before returning to Keelung in the evening. In between if you have
time go to Shi Fen (Lovely Waterfalls). It may seem complicated but it is
not.All of these are within one area with that Keelung bus plying the route.
All very scenic and time passes very fast. When in doubt, just ask any one for
directions. Now you have returned to Keelung in the late evening, then
head for Miaokow Food Street and after your Dinner, you can stroll around the
Keelung before returning to the hotel later by Bus or train.

Hi Check this Northern Area Map:
Yeilou is north of Keelung, Joiufen is South of Keelung ,Try to make time and get to Shifen about 15 km from Joiufen, lovely scenery.

thank you so much nuttyazn!!!!

There's a tour bus company startravel.com.tw, that has a package to bring us to Janfusan theme park for NT999. So planning to head there to buy tickets. Thanks for the info, I was searching blindly, hoping to look for directions on how to go.

Hualien

Personal advice for --http://www.taiwantourbus.com.tw/english/tour_detail.php?uid=61--half day tour. The tour bus will start at 11am. After picking up at few point, the bus will fetch you at 11.30am at hualien train station. After that, it will proceed to few more pts for picking up. The last picking up will be around 12pm ++. You will only reach taroko at around 1pm. Total touring
time is only 3hrs. After which at around 1600, the bus will start moving back to the picking up point for dropping. You will reach the train station at 1630hrs. I would suggest taking a cab. The competition over there is very strong. A uncle went up to me and offered me 1500NT for me and my girlfriend. It was quite lucky for me because that uncle was a registrated Tour guide
with the national board of tourism. Therefore I tour around taroko in a cab with a nice tour guide who explain eveything to me in details . By the way. the cab i took was a toyota MPV
....Very shiok. Along the journey, we can walk as long as we like, hehe
After the tour, i requested the uncle to bring me to the best maji shop in hualien.<Not those tourist shop>

And one last thing, rem to book the train ticket to hualien early...
