Hi. I have just booked jetstar for taipei F&E trip with my family from 25th to 29th Nov.
I have read thru all the pages and have a few Qns:

1)What will the weather be roughly like in late Nov as per above date? Is it winter?

2)Will those clothes selling in WuFenPu etc be winter wear only? Cos i am intending to get nice clothes etc that i can wear back in SG.

3) Apart from the bus coach from CKS airport to taipet then cab/train to Rainbow, is there any way to book a van or private coach to rainbow straight at a reasonable proce because we are going in a grp of 10?

4) As for Sceneric Spots, i intend to be going to dan-shui for the fisherman's wharf and lover bridge. Is that worth the trip? Any other nice spots for good scenery and photo taking?

Thanks in advance.

I just returned from F&E trip to taipei from 30-sep to 8-oct. on arrival day took freego bus service, then go down at the 1st stop which is 得惠路 then at that stop there is a free mini coach driver there waiting where he can send u for free to rainbow hotel using a mini coach. But he will stop at the main road cos xi men ding inside out of bounds to car. After get down need to walk about 1 minute short distance then reach hotel liao.

hi all, i just came back from taipei. wonderful experience! thanks to all those who helped! the weather there is turning cooling. its good to go now, but may rain often! hehe. will post my findings and experience by tml or something as im still unpacking my stuffs now.

some general tips:
if you live in rainbow hotel, follow what extrack say. yes, freego bus will bring you to ur hotel. its great service. when u board the bus, just let the driver know your destination is "chang hong fan dian", he will remind you to get down when the bus is at its first stop. then a mini bus should be waiting and fetch you to wuchang street. just walk in and you will see it in no time.

when you plan ur itinerary, go danshiu at night, its busier at the "old street" at night and you can take red bus number 26 to fisherman wharf for the sunset. beautiful. but it keeps raining lately, so count your chances well!

rainbow hotel provides transport from the hotel to the airport at NT1000, and an additional NT100 for midnight transport. the car they use to fetch you is normally nissan cefiro or other bigger cars. so its kinda worth it if you are considering cab option.

i will consolidate all my findings into a post or 2 so that pple can save some trouble searching through the thread.

wufenpu mostly sells long sleeves clothes now. but i still found quite a number of short sleeves and other clothings that are suitable for wear in singapore. so its worth your time to go down there.

danshui is worth your time

Taichung or Hua-lien?

Hi all, I intend to spend 2 nites away from Taipei. Need some serious opinions on whether it is more worthwhile to spend the 2 nites in Taichung or Hua-lien. Is there any tours that I can get from Taichung train station or hire a cab to bring us for sightseeing? I've got a ton of questions..... cos I'm planning a DIY itinerary for 9 days. Thank you for any replies...

Thanks for your advice. Does the mini bus charge any $$? And will the minibus be waiting for us there or it only comes at intervals because we wouldn't want to wait too long there.

I just look at the CKS airport website. Is this the bus u all are referring to?
Fe Go Express The Hsing-Tien Temple, Chilin Elementary School, China Airline Office, Asia World Department Store, Formosa Building, Taipei Taipei Songshan Airport, China Times Square, Neihu Final Stop Adult NT$135
Child NT$70 05:30-01:30 40

Becos the spellings are diff, i wanna make sure. Thanks again.

Ok. What airline are you taking? I took SQ and i landed at terminal 2, so i turn right after exiting the arrival gate and turn right again and ill see the bus counters in a small waiting room. if i remember correctly, terminal 1 is on the left. anyway, just ask where the bus counters is when u reach the terminal and the kind taiwanese will be there to help you along.

the bus service company is called Freego bus. some called it Fe go bus. in chinese its "fei gou" Flying dog. green color one. ok?

you will need to pay NT135 per pax for the transport to ur hotel which includes the minibus fees. when u purchase ur tickets, u MUSt tell the counter person that u want to go rainbow hotel. she will make a specific call for the minibus to wait for you at the first bus stop where the freego bus stops. and remember, when u board the bus, let the bus driver know youre going chang hong fan dian. just try to be naggy and ask them to remind you. they will surely do so.

hoped i have helped you here!

forgive me for my ignorance. lol
