Sing $ always change directly to NTD since you are coming here. Otherwise you lose a lot for SGD~USD~NTD

Officially it is about NTD19.29 for SGD1 Today

Hey freehtml, I'm going with 2 friends from 25th jan - 1st feb.
Are you going at that time too? Where are you planning to visit? I'm worried that alot of shops will be closed during that period.
I will be going to my gf place, then we will maybe go taipei or Hualian walk around.

Hi,

Thats the current rate in Taipei today.

I see. So it's better to change the money there in Taiwan instead of here in Singapore then cos the rate is about 19.1 only.

Hi,

I changed at the CKS airport on 10th (Saturday) when I arrived at the money changer before the immigration checkpoint at Terminal 2. The rate was 19.31. Admin fee of NT$20. FYI.

I also want to know cos I will be going to Taiwan next Friday. Just check the rate at The Arcade, the money changer quoted me NT$19.30 whereas when I checked Yahoo Exchange Rate is NT19.90.

By the way, wat kind of clothes shd I pack in my luggage? I thought of bring T-shirts, sweaters or cardigan and jeans...

HI, This current cold front will last until the 20th and the temp is cold:Now is 11 but on 15th ~ 18th temp to go below 10C at night with day highs from 15C ~18C.

Dont have to carry too many, Just one or two at most for sweaters and a Jacket preferably lined. If you plan to shop a bit, then dont bring in too much.

19,90 is bank rates, not the same as over the counter money rates.

Hmm.. triple sharing, below $120..
-No need to be Luxurious

Is Rainbow hotel good, and anyone know the price per night?
You can try Good Ground Hotel:
http://www.eztravel.com.tw/eztravel...ITY_CD=TP2&BID=
Book Directly online is cheaper than direct to the Hotel according to Hotel Staff. So far reports: Nothing fancy but clean and safe with regular amenities Close toTaipei main Station.

Last quote for Rainbow for triple was NTD2180 .Give them a short call and check:886-2-23119193 or Fax:886-2-2388 5011
Rainbow Hotel

Another Hotel East Dragon Hotel: Very close by and Nice and clean: Last quote for triple was NTD2400/-
Tel:886-2-23116969 Fax:23116967
East Dragon Hotel

For Rainbow and East Dragon: Nett with breakfast.

P.S. If you dont want Chinese Porrige for breakfast every day,ask for Western breakfast or you will get Chinese breakfast everyday.
